Inquiry about Nothing Man

Hi there--

I may be on the wrong board for this one, but "Nothing Man" was a huge inspiration for my independent feature film I just wrapped called, Plan B. I wrote while listening to it, I filmed with it on my mind and now we are editing and it truly seems to fit perfectly with the main character's journey to taking responsibility for his life and making amends for his past. Can anyone direct me as to where I should begin searching to acquire the use of the song for my film. I obviously haven't the budget to afford outright buyiing of the rights, but I'd be thrilled to do it and give a gaurantee that if it goes somewhere (rather, when, optimism's a great thing) then rights could be paid out upon distribution rights... anyways, I am looking for the next step and I appreciate any time you've all given this one and please point me in the right direction, including if this was not the right one.

Thanks so much--
Best,
J. Ricker

  • this one is about not taking chances and aking something of yourself i think.. kind of along the lines of I Got Shit..

she once believed in every story he had to tell,
one day she stiffened, took the other side.

She got tired of this guy's "shit" and "turned against him".

the "into the sun...(i think he says..) Fly into the sun.. Burn.. Burn.. nothingman." could mean anything.. suicide? giving up? starting over?

    hope that helps.
Come on pilgrim you know he loves you..

I'm very interested in viewing Plan B...when and where can we see it?

As far as how to obtain permission to use the album version of the song for the film, you'd need to speak with the copyright holder...which I believe is Sony (but I could be wrong). Maybe Kat or Sea (sorry, I don't know Sea's email) could help you get in touch with the right people.
