Did this happen on Another Band's Message Board in 1991?

"Anyone ever hear of Pearl Jam...they are from Seattle.  They used to be called Mookie Blaylock. I think they will be huge!"

We didn't have messgae boards  in 1991.   Hell, we  barely had the internet.

I didn't get internet until '96 maybe? It was after Windows 95 came out anyway. I only remember chat rooms and images that took 10 minutes to load. Oh, and downloading Randall's Island which took several days.

    A typical 1991 message board:

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

  • "It was Deadheads at the Stanford lab who created the first links in the digital Deadhead network in the early 1970s, soon connecting via ARPANET to their fellow Dead freaks at the M.I.T. Media Lab in Boston, trading setlists and tapes and, in one case, selling pot. It was the first link in a chain that stretches unbroken through the BBS and Usenet eras to modern times. Decades before the site formerly known as Rap Genius, Deadhead librarian David Dodd finished his scholarly annotations of Dead lyrics."

DOS and floppy discs and then the flood of AOL discs in the mail. That is probably why the ice caps are melting - AOL discs.
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2
    2024 Sacramento, CA
