Blood Lyric Question

In the song Blood, Eddie sings the lyrics:

Paint-ed big...Turn-ed into...One of his enemies...

When he does this, is he singing "painted big" and "turned into" or "paint Ed" and "turn Ed"

The reason I ask is because Eddie does sing -ed words with two syllables as opposed to one, as in the word "aged" in Deep. So, what is Eddie singing in Blood here?

i think its both....it is a clever play on words
"I'll tell you what: If all I had was Pearl Jam, and I didn't have another band in the world, I would not be worried. Because in there is the essence of making great music. You don't have to use it all at once, but it's there." - Neil Young

I always thought it was "Paint IT big, turn IT into...".

it's "Paint Ed big.. turn Ed into... one of his enemies."
Common sense is not so common.

I think it goes both ways, a clever play on words like someone else said.

Kind of like in the daughter lyrics the booklet says "young girl, violins" when i'm pretty sure he's actually saying violence.

He just says words like that sometimes.
