was Jack on drums?? Melbourne, definitely doesn’t sound like Matt. Best version I’ve ever heard, guitars are also fantastic

I agree.  Immortality and porch are amazing too. (Very different jams/intros)

Yes indeed, this of course was also the radio broadcast for the tour. Something PJ did in Oz a number of times through JJJ first then MMM in ‘03. I remember taping this to cassette and playing over and over in the car and at home.

  • Absolutely killer version. Would love to see this concert as a Vault release. Had this on tape back in the day from someone on this board - wish I remembered who! Probably still in my walkman back home lol

Mike’s guitar playing at the end is so amazing. Very simple notes but so good.

If any show from the 98 Jack tour was to be released it would probably be this.  Obviously it was traded heavily back in the day so we all know it but I’m pretty sure the band has it marked as a highlight recording of that tour.

My favorite vaults are the ones I’ve never heard before.  Like Vault 6 was for me.  One of the only 98 shows I never had on cassette. That Vault was a nice surprise.

My favorite boot ever. And I think the second or third one I ever had. I downloaded it from presenttense.net, song-by-song, on my dial-up modem. The JWB Remaster version is my definitive version these days though.

Best In My Tree as everyone is saying. Great SOLAT as you said. And while I'm not sure if everyone will agree, it has my favorite versions of I Got Shit, Porch, and my favorite non-Dave A. version of Animal.

I would hope for a different show from the tour. They've been pretty good (aside from vault 7) about not going with widely bootlegged shows, and 3/5/98 is probably top 3 most popular

^^^ many hate on us, but buying the bootleg vinyl of this show was one of my best moves.  I play it quite often and it sounds pretty good

If anyone wants the incredibly good audience recordings of the prior 2 nights at the venue, 3.2 and 3.3 let me know I just sent out the flacs a week ago in a different thread.
His eminence has yet to show.
