    I don't follow what's going on in Great Britain enough to know about them, but the descriptions in this article certainly do seem right on the mark as far as the U.S. goes.  It's like we're asleep at the wheel and on the next curve we'll fly into oblivion.  Sad, pathetic, and probably unnecessary but likely not avoidable.
