Jack Irons Yield tour

Man wouldn't this be cool for a Vault choice. He only did two shows in Hawaii and then two shows in New Zealand and 11 shows in Australia.   As far as Pearl Jam history this is significant.  There would be no Yield without Jack.  Would love to hear any of these shows and we know they were all recorded.   Sad to know that songs like No Way, Push Me Pull Me, The Color Red, Whale Song,  and Low Light  never got the Jack treatment live.

+1. His tenure with the band is my favorite period of their history when they were really going for something wholesale unique with the music which they’ve only done in spurts since.

I was lucky enough to catch one of the Aussie shows in 98 and they were great with him on the skins. Little did we know...

Wellington 98 is still the best gig I've ever seen. If that was recorded I'm yet to see it. Sat next to a girl who tried to record it but security made her shut it off despite the policy and I only ever heard the encore tracks.

Jack was awesome. Back of the beat like Dave K and was still powerful. Last Exit was awesome, but seeing him do Who You Are and Given To Fly the way they were meant to be played went down such a treat.
Stars are suns to other people.

No Code first.  I realize they are with Matt, but there are already 2 Yield vaults and a compilation live album off that tour.

    9.13
    9.14
    11.2
    11.4

would all be great on 24 track mixes from Eliason.   11.1, 11.6 and 11.7 as well, but there is already the digital board from 11.1 and the mixed sources from the San Diego shows would only be marginal upgrades.  The mono mixes on 11.2 and 11.4 are a bit "tinny" and would definitely rise up with a proper mix.

I love how they play in 11/2.  Some real cool different  jams. Could be the best not for you of all time.

Love the idea of any 98 vault show. Jack on drums is even better.
personally any vault before 98 doesn’t seem to be recorded with the same quality. Haven’t listened to the latest one yet though.

Wellington 98 sounds like an amazing  idea.  A vault of a show none of us (except those in attendance) have ever heard before.  Oh, wouldn't that be cool?

Even less of a chance of this but hey, I’d love to see a Jack era concert where I can watch him play beats like WYA and IMT which let’s face it, Matt Cameron isn’t really playing true to.
  • densandensan Posts: 563
I saw him play at the two fan club shows in Seattle. I had the honor of meeting Jack back in 95. It was great. I asked him to sign something from the Red Rocks show, and he said he did not play on that album" I said no you didn't, but I drove to Red Rocks and saw you play like a MF. and I thanked him for saving our band by joining when Dave left. Ask Ed, no Jack = nothing...He signed JACK and shook my hands. Smiled a bit too.  Great interaction!

Same here on the albums (but not those particular songs!). His drumming was like primal fluidity.
