Just listened on Spotify yesterday - I didn't love this show. Sure its got that early 90s PJ energy to it but Eddie botched the lyrics for Last Exit, Tremor, I've Got a Feeling, and Rockin'. He barely sang any lyrics for I've Got a Feeling. Was he drunk (honest question)?

The Mamason trilogy was great. Besides that, meh. Theres plenty of other early 90s shows that are better.

    Am I missing something?
Well it was a year before Last Exit and Tremor Christ were released. So don't know if the lyrics were set in stone yet. Like Immortality in April 1994
Ok Immortality at the Orpheum was epic. While lyrics weren’t set in stone, at least he had A SET.

Plus we know he knows the lyrics to Got a Feelin and Rockin. ;)
Just glancing through setlists it looks like this might have been only I've got a feeling in 1993. Was somewhat of a staple in 92 but pretty rare 93/94 then not again until more recent (much worse) versions.

    6/26/98, 8/17/00, 10/8/00, 12/8/02, 12/9/02, 4/25/03, 5/28/03, 6/1/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 6/6/03, 6/12/03, 6/13/03, 6/15/03, 6/18/03, 6/21/03, 6/22/03, 7/12/03, 7/14/03, 10/3/04, 10/5/04, 9/9/05, 9/11/05, 9/16/05, 5/16/06, 5/17/06, 5/19/06, 6/30/06, 7/23/06, 8/5/07, 6/30/08, 8/23/09, 8/24/09, 5/4/10, 5/7/10, 9/3/11, 9/4/11, 10/11/13, 10/17/14, 8/20/16

I’m sure it was a vault release because of the Mamason Trilogy more than any other reason.
I’m not sure how old you are, but that was the band in the early 90s, dealing with fame and all the shit that came with it as well as the personal demons. It’s raw... it’s what live shows were like back then.  I (unfortunately) never saw them back then because I was broke in Buttfuck Alberta (middle of nowhere) but other alternative/punk bands I did get to see in that time period had that same raw, us-against the world vibe/mentality.  Was a great time to be alive! That may be what you are missing, because it came through loud and clear to me. Like a flashback... 😎

Thanks bud! I am a bit younger (was only 6 in 93) but am well versed and listened to a bunch from that era. Very much so seems like a great time to be alive.

Makes sense it was released just for the Mamason trilogy. This vault just seems a bit weaker than others from that era (NYE 92, Orpheum 94, Slims 93, anything Europe 92, etc).

Well Orpheum has its own album already. But you are quite correct, there are plenty to choose from. 😎. Keep em comin.

Slims is a hard YES from me. The seamless transition from dirty frank jam into rats is fantastic and worth a release just for that

I love this show. The pissed off version of alive is amazing and mamason songs are great! I hope the vinyl keeps some of Ed's banter in... I used to have a shitty cassette boot of it back in the day and listened to it non stop.

It’s pretty much like listening to a different band playing the same songs. They were definitely more hard rock and turned mellow classic rock over the years. I like both versions

I listened to the sample 30 second clips on Amazon and they sound much rawer and passionate in 1993. Big part is Dave’s energy that’s missing in later shows. You could hear the sound that was coming into Vitalogy. They were a different band after No Code in 1996 for sure. Glad to have this boot as a snapshot of what was.
