if you count lost dogs: hard to imagine then footsteps

if not then its probably either:
Smile- Off He Goes from No Code
    or
...Small Town- Leash from Vs (what a contrast)
    or
Tremor Christ-Nothingman off of Vitalogy (again a nice contrast)
    or
Low Light-In Hinding/ Given To Fly-Wishlist from Yield

    it could change tho...

A million came to mind, but I think Lukin - PresentTense does it for me. The two songs bring out every emotion I am capable of handling in the span of 6 mins. EVERY single other listing was definitely on my list of 3000 runners up..... :) Amazing thread topic!

    Mankind and I'm Open
I really think Present Tense leads into it well too. I love the difference between Jeff on Mankind and Eddie's spoken words and haunting singing on I'm Open. Mankind has such a different sound for PJ, thanks to Jeff and I'm Open is wonderful. I love the words to the spoken part. Haunting and beautiful.

Well on Riot Act I like Ghost-I Am Mine.
Then there is Untitled and MFC from Live on Two Legs, they pretty much own.

I can't really decide which set it cooler.

Sometimes > Hail hail - almost blows the speakers but very infectious
I got ID > Hail Hail - On RVM, so raw and shows pearl jam at their best
You are > get Right - The suspense after you are is amazing
Oceans > Porch - What can i say, oceans is so relaxing....Porch wakes me up again
    Last but not least
Why go > Black - classic pearl jam, rockin song to a classic ballad , who would think it is the same band.

  • "Leavin' Here" - "Gremmie Out Of Control"....almost makes it seem that PJ is 60's band for a minute.

  • favorite studio combo has got to be way back on TEN for me.. such an amazing first album..

    Ooh, can't touch the bottom.
In too deep, yeah. Uh-huh. Can't touch the bottom."

  • Last Exit > Spin the Black Circle

    WMA > Blood

Though it's nice listening to Ten on repeat when Release goes into Once. Just sucks when you hear the CD reset during the moody bass jam that starts and ends the CD.

  • Blimy, off the top of my head I'd say arc-->all or none musically is a great sequence. However, after Light Years, the intro to Nothing as it Seems is the darkest moment on any Pearl Jam album. They're a real 2 parter for me, with the loss, then at the start of nothing as it seems, the reality hits home.
