“We did ‘Even Flow’ about 50, 70 times. I swear to God it was a nightmare. We played that thing over and over until we hated each other. I still don’t think Stone is satisfied with how it came out.”
—Mike McCready
On April 6, 1992, Pearl Jam released “Even Flow” as the second single from Ten. The music was written by Stone Gossard, the lyrics by Eddie Vedder. The track on the album Ten has Dave Krusen on the drums. An alternate Dave Abbruzzese-version was recorded in 1992 during the “Singles” soundtrack session. Abbruzzese’s version is in the music video, was used for the UK single release, and is on the 2004 greatest hits album, “Rearviewmirror.”
