In retrospect, I can't believe Vitalogy wasn't nominated for a packaging Grammy. Especially considering it was nominated for overall album of the year. And to a lesser extent, No Code as well. The polaroids and the way the CD opened up to reveal the entire vinyl cover were cool.

No Fear Inoculum in the packaging nominations is very surprising. Good on Jeff and Barry though.

Blows my mind Tool's new album isn't nominated. The artwork is incredible.

Vitalogy was nominated for package. Also Yield. No Code surprisingly wasn't. And of course Lightning Bolt won

Always just figured they were nominated for best album and best rock album for Vitalogy. Can't find it anywhere where it says packaging, but I'm sure you're right.

No Fear Inoculum didn't miss it. The title track is up for best rock song and 7empest is up for best metal performance.

Was this for super deluxe box set?

Anyone buy the album? Was it worth the $$? Is it just a greatest hit package? I’m a bit iffy about how his work has been handled post mortem - seems like its being milked but Jeff’s involvement has me curious.

Edit: I see it was just for the cover art. Other Qs still stand.

Their Grammy was given out at the pre-awards ceremony, which is held in a smaller venue across the street from the Staples Center a few hours before the actual telecast.

Yes, Jerome Turner won his first Grammy. I wonder if Jerome has to personally claim it or it just gets handed to Eddie?

Very surprised Fear Inoculum didn't get even a nomination for best package but glad the Aments won.
