I closely listened to the lyrics of immortality after i heard somewhere it was a tribute to kurt. I believe it is after listening to it about 200 times. The lyrics cigar box on the floor as Kurt died with a cigar box next to him where he kept his drugs. Victims in demand for public show. Swept out through the cracks beneath the door.Holier than thou, how surrended executed anyhow. Scrawl dissolved, cigar box on the floor. A truant finds home. And a wish to hold on to. Saw a trapdoor in the sun. Some die just live..... I strongly believe this is a tribute to kurt cobain as Eddie wrote at least 1 song for him and this is it

" makes much more sense to live in the present tense "
Though when it was first debuted, it's lyrics were completely different, and it seems to have been changed to be about Kurt.
