I think all the reviews have been mixed. They all say some really good stuff and then some that aren’t so great.
Most have given a good to great grade. 75 or above. This one gave a 60
A five star scale isn’t that wide. To me a 4 star means it is pretty good but not great.
Without a publications (or reviewers) grade key, it is up in the air. Case in point, swedens biggest newspapper Aftonbladet has a 2 as "Good" while I would believe many people would say a 3 which is in the middle of the scale would be a "Good". But then, Aftonbladet also has a grade of 6 in just one instance, and that is for Bruce Spiringsteen concerts.
Anyways, I would believe this is the standard "key" for grading on a 5 tiered scale.
5 = masterpiece/superb. As good as stuff can be 4 = Really good/Great/ 3 = Good 2 = Good with flaws/not good enough 1 = Awful /As bad as can fit on the scale

My favorite part of this review. (Credit for this apparently goes to Vedder, who sequenced the album out of a mountain of material the band had amassed in fits and starts in the last several years.) I would love to know how much more?!
