With the Celtics, one has to remember that Tatum just turned 24 and Brown is 25. People expect these guys (not just them, but young budding stars in general) to be ready to win titles at 20, 21, 22 years old. It just doesn't happen. Guys don't play 4 years of college ball and enter the NBA at a more physically mature and seasoned 22 anymore, they are usually 19, still often needing to bulk up and needing to adapt to the rigors of the NBA (big jump form 36 or so college game season to 82 in the NBA against much better & stronger competition). So, the Celtics are pretty much on the timeline for these 2 guys to be hitting the beginning of their window. Steph was 27 and Klay was 25 when they won their first title.

As for the matchup. Look at the recent years. They split this year,
They have played 8 games when the Celtics have had Tatum and the Warriors have had Steph in the lineup. Celtics are 5-3 in those games.
    They match up very well.
No Klay, Poole wasn't coming around and Wiggins woke up.  Throw Kuminga in there too for good measure as a player coming around.

Wiggins will be neutralized by Horford and the Williams twins easily. He scored more than 20 points one time in the playoffs and suddenly folks are bronzing his bust in Springfield, He's a tertiary piece on his best day, usually just a role player.
Its gonna come down to Curry & Thompson. If the Celts can defend them well (Marcus Smart's ankle health will be a key factor), then they can win.
Should be a good series (if it comes to pass), and hopefully a symbolic passing of the torch from the Splash Bros to Tatum & Brown as the next reigning duo for a while.

Wiggins defense has been stepped up. Don't need him to score 20 was my point.  Horford is a role player now too.  A good one though.  Then who is on Dreymond?  He can score if he has to.  He's not just a facilitator.

You left out Poole who has come on in to his own.

I guess they will just leave Poole open to dunk on every possession.
Have you watched the Celtics play defense this postseason?
They switch and recover as well as any team has in a long time. They have size, length and strength with every guy in regular rotation outside of Pritchard. Guys like Poole won't get all the open looks he got against the Denvers and Memphises of the world.

Should be a good, competitive series (if it comes to pass).

They do play really good D but the movement that GS does is fantastic.  No one moves like them in the league.  If they have to, Curry will run all over the place swishing from the logo to free everyone else up.

Yes it will be a good series.  If Boston stays like this a torch will be passed soon but not yet.  GS still has their dynasty in tact.

That third quarter run by the Mavs was fun to watch.  In the end though their defense stunk.  I f they can learn that this team might do some good as long as their 3's go in.

"After I made my corrections" tells you that you predicted wrong.
You predicted Brooklyn to beat Boston, Then you predicted Milwaukee to beat Boston.

I told you I didn't trust Boston.  They fooled me in believing in them for years.  Almost as bad as believing in the Nets.  Kyrie and KD get a vote of no confidence for the rest of their years until they can actually prove me wrong.

Milwaukee had a great collapse too, it's not like Boston looked good early in that series so stop it.

Phoenix looks lost.  Great adjustment by Kid and the Mavs.
The Heat have such a deep team they shouldn't be losing to Philly.
Warriors are going to roll on the Grizz now.
Boston can't figure out the Bucks so they are done too.
    Hey Poncier I was 3 for 4...

Celtics haven't lost back to back games with their full lineup since January (they did lose one late in the season in Toronto when Tatum, brown and Horford didn't make the trip). So losing game 1 of a series like they did to Milwaukee is not a death knell. They bounced back and blew the Bucks out in game 2. I wouldn't say Milwaukee had a great collapse, they barely won both games 3 and 5 (Celtics had the great collapse in game 5 handing the Bucks that game late with bad turnovers etc.) and got pounded in games 6 and 7. Celtics were clearly the better team (Middleton's absence a big part of that).

Take that issue up with Wobbie. I never contradicted anything in this post aside from your anti-Celtics takes this entire postseason. My direct response to that post only discussed how wrong you were with the 4th item.

Middleton could have been a huge factor, yes.  Mil just turned though, like they forgot how to play.  After that gm5 they should not have lost that series...

This series will be the battle of the 3rd quarters.  I'm looking forward to it!

    Interesting fact about the finals...

Both Kyrie and KD left their teams in 2019 and both those teams are now in the finals...
