Having attended PJ's induction with friends, and really enjoying it....I am shocked that Priest is not in.
SG and JP in the same year -- do it!

Let's face it, no one rocked harder than Whitney Houston.

I'd say Madonna's music has more rock elements to it than Whitney's.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Never checked them out really, but I voted for them. They are influential and made a lasting impact. They should've been in a long time ago.

Not a big fan myself but they made enough impact that I would go for it.

Never liked Judas Priest or Iron Maiden at all. Give me Soundgarden and NIN and DMB this year. All deserving and great bands.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

If you were a metal fan at all you would know the impact Priest had, beyond selling shittons of albums and playing so many years on tour.
I can fully understand not loving their music but if you were to really break it down and look at what they meant to an established genre, they are no brainer inclusions in the HoF.
I love SG and NIN, but Priest goes in before them if you just look at the history and impact of the bands.  I don't even think it is close.
DMB isn't my thing but they certainly have been a mainstay on tour for a long, long time.

I completely agree with you on their impact. They should have been first ballot hall of fame inductees for sure. Just not my cup of tea. I prefer the heavier music and not the high pitch singing.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

Not to be a killjoy, but the fan vote only counts for 1 vote among over 1,000 other voters.

Painkiller was when I stopped devouring all new albums but I like lots of what I've heard since.  Anything before is awesome, to me.
For me, the B side tracks on Screaming for Vengeance are their best "side" and stands up against any metal "side" I can think of.
(A side British Steel is close!)
