Mesa Mark II

A friend of mine has a Mesa Mark II from the early 80's that he might want to sell.
It has a couple issues with noise, though. The Push/Pull pots all make an audible pop through the speaker when manipulated and the 5-band graphic EQ adds a fair amount of hiss when switched on. Otherwise, everything works as it should.
The weight of this thing is unbelievable! Massive transformers and the 20 lb EV speaker add up. It has to be 75-80 lbs judging by the scale in my arm.
I have agreed to try to troubleshoot the noise issues for him and I might end up buying it but I don't really have a use for such a loud, powerful combo.
Has anyone ever played around with one of these? Thoughts on Mesa/Boogie amps in general are welcome too.

If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV
