Same Song Title, Different Band/Artist: "Closer”

Glorified KCGlorified KC KCMO Native Posts: 2,502
Happy Friday!  This week I am going with the song title, "Closer." If there's not a band or artist listed that you feel should be, please feel free to bring it up!
  • Nine Inch Nails - Released as a single in 1994, off of their album "The Downward Spiral"
  • Kings of Leon - Released in 2008, off of their album "Only by the Night"
  • Aerosmith - Released in 2012, off of their album "Music from Another Dimension!"
  • The Chainsmokers - Released as a single in 2016, off of their EP, "College"
  • Tegan and Sara - Released as a single in 2012, off of their album "Heartthrob"
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

This is an easy one. I still love this track
    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)

I picked Tegan and Sara just so it won't be forgotten. NIN's I guess is the best.

But Kings of Leons song is really great too.
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"

Aerosmith released an album in the 21st century? I can't fathom how terrible it must be

The song's a bit rough.  I didn't know about this record until I was putting together this list.

Admittedly, I think I voting more for the album (The Downward Spiral) than the track in question.

    CNBC's of the week:
Rush - Closer To The Heart
The Cure - Close To You
    Semisonic - Closing Time
The Police - Don't Stand So Close To Me
U2 - Stay (Faraway, So Close)

Hmmmm....I'm struggling to think of more this morning (and only one title has "closer" in it!)

Agreed...dig the album, but I never really liked this one. Mostly because my hipster self hated the posh kids in high school digging "my" band because of this song. Sigh...the things we cared about.

Pretty easy decision for me although Kong’s of Leon’s is pretty good.

I have to go Closing Time on this week’s CNBC.  Heard it so many times while at the bar into the wee hours.

Also don’t forget the Carpenters “Close to You.”

Mudvayne is decent although didn't care for their last two albums that much.
