RIP Mario Ruiz, devoted Pearl Jam fan

killmoretroutkillmoretrout Burque, NM Posts: 160
Just wanted to alert the community to the passing of Mario Ruiz, a passionate fan of the band from New Mexico.  I believe he was a member on the boards here, too, and I figured some of you may have met or have known him.

I only had the opportunity to meet him a couple of times during the Home Shows last year.  Saw a guy with a poster tube in the airport in Albuquerque and knew exactly where he was going.  We chatted at our gate, shared a car in Seattle, and my girlfriend and I dropped him off at the stadium so he could fill that tube.  We bumped into him again after the show and we all reveled in what we'd just experienced.  We exchanged info, but unfortunately I didn't see him again after that weekend.  I saw of his passing on Facebook, and the outpouring of love seems to confirm what I learned about him in the very short period of time I knew him, he was a warm and gregarious and empathetic human.

RIP, Mario.

Damn, not even a full month older than me.  Very sorry to hear.  Two announcements like this in one day for folks too young to pass is tough to take.

Mario was a member of the boards here.

"Well I have had to turn to music to get me through some shit the past 4 years (divorce (ugly) losing my kids to divorce etc) my options are endless when trying to deal with this and most of those are harmful options, so I chose to turn to music of all types but PJ has always been in my fibers and now more than ever I am still here and alive and listening because of the words and feelings shared by this band.
    Thank you Mike,Ed,stone,Matt,Jeff,boom
    Things are good now"

I don't know the circumstances of his death, but I hope he's at peace now.

Very sad news.  RIP Mario.  Gone way too soon.

Very cool that he was a Buddy Guy fan as well.
