It looks like it has potential.
One of the strongest elements from The Matrix was the covert-op rebel type of feel crossing over into the Matrix, as well as Anderson's resistance to the idea and learning about what his life really is/was.
The second one was just one confusing life - to - computer-programming metaphor after another.
The third one was just an over-the-top science fiction action movie.
This trailer seems to show that we are going to have a movie aligned with the first film, and if done right it could be very strong. It will still be a challenge because we already know the 'big reveal'.0 -
