believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

The show at Allston was great.
Any chance of Satan's Bed at the Malden show?

I hate tribute bands. All of them.
If I want to hear Pearl Jam's music, I'll listen to Pearl Jam.

Why would a bunch of musicians spend all of their time and talent trying to sound exactly like another band?
Why wouldn't they just put that energy into creating something unique?
Are they lazy? Trying to cash in on someone else's talent?
I don't care if they sound exactly like PJ.....they aren't PJ.
I'd rather hear something they created themselves.

  • 1st thing.......why waste time and talent? you asked

because we flucking love Pearl Jam's music. And we have a great time playing their tunes. And thousands agree with us. We're all having a big party...and you're not invited!

2nd...........You actually think the members of this band can quit their day jobs to continue a tribute band for a living. Man, you're a moron. No! I'm sorry dude, but you are. We're only having a SHIT LOAD of fun on the weekends with friends and fans of Pearl Jam. Nothing more and nothing less.

3rd.............I am sorry we sound like your heroes but you have to move on and just try to avoid threads promoting tributes to bands!

    1st: Oooooooh. I'm not inivited.
2nd: Never said that. You missed the point completely.
3rd: You don't sound like my heroes, and I'll throw in my opinion on any thread I please, thank you.
I'm not a fan of tribute bands. Period.
I didn't mean to get your panties in such a bunch.

  • These guys sound great! Don't worry about all the negative comments. They are extremely jealous and probably have no life anyway.
Does Pearl Jam cover other musicians?? Yes that's what i thought! lol

    Jealous? That would be no.

And there is a difference between covering a song, and becoming a cover band. Apples and oranges, my dear.

  • Hey as long as they are happy.

I was told that the people on this forum were okay. But judging from this thread there are more bad apples than good.

Why are people like this. no reason to reply so negatively towards this band. I would do the same thing if i could play an instrument. Give them credit. heard the mp3's on their website and i was blown away. I would see them if they came to my state.

    You call this negative?
It's nothing compared to the PM's I'm getting from trumansghost.

I was told this board was open to more than one way of thinking.
But evidently, if you don't follow the herd, you'll be chastised.

This was the first time you replied to this thread. You come across as a real jerk from the start!

I don't blame trumansghost for PMing you didoolly squat!
You would also notice they have many other songs other than pearl jam. It looks like TG is a cover band or something too.
And it's like TG said, THEY'RE JUST HAVING FUN.
    You are very rude

A 2 second history for you....if you want to hear some original music by certain members of Backseat Lover (yes original...played in a original band for 8 years) then go to http://www.corkskrew.com

No worries. If you and your sexy baritone are ever touring down under please let me know, ok? :)
  • i just have to say that i think its awesome that there's such thing as tribute and cover bands. it brings it closer to home....and i was wondering if anyone had ever heard of Itchy Fish. a pj cover band that played in upstate NY alot. They aren't together anymore i dont think....only cause i live elsehwhere now. but they rocked the places they played. i loved watching them. thank you tribute and cover bands. you keep on keepin on....:)
oh and Itchy Fish "former" members? if you are still out there? please please please get back together.....everyone loved you and loves you still!

  • I remember Itchy Fish very well. The lead singer was at one of my former bands shows in the past and got up and sang Yellow Ledbetter with us. Great vocalist. They were a fun band to watch. Last I heard they were trying out some original stuff, but that was awhile ago so don't know what they are up to now.

Backseat Lover hopes to recreate that same love, energy and atmosphere of live PJ music that Itchy Fish once did, so check us out for yourself sometime if you have the chance.
