Metallica is doing what we all wished for

Metallica has started adding full concert videos now along with the audio releases for shows, starting with July 6 show, on the Nugs.net app. Don’t know if every subscriber has access as I bought my subscription through a Metallica sale

They're also releasing way more vault shows at a faster pace than PJ.
Found: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)

Selling concert tickets on the secondary market to make more money while acting like their concert tickets are reasonably priced?

I think PJ might be in the minority that doesn't do that.

On the flip side Metallica runs the equivalent of the digital 10c membership for free.  Any fans who put it a minor amount of effort wouldn't have a problem getting face value tickets.   They help the dedicated fans and take advantage of the casuals :)

They do long tours though, covering most countries. So. Better a pricey ticket and get to see a show, than never getting one close by?

There are downsides to a free fanclub. They don’t look at seniority when it comes to fanclub ticket sales. So absolutely anyone can enter a minute before the sale starts. Where’s the fan advantage in that?

PJ needs to do the Phish model. Live stream every show , have an app with all the live audio available that you can stream, and give free show downloads away with tickets.

Its still a much better system than a private distribution of all the good seats to the same fans tour after tour, limiting supply for everyone else and driving up resale prices much higher than other big bands.

And... pretending upper deck has the same value as front of house. "10C the absolute worst system in rock."

That's half true.  If you were a paid member before it went free you got legacy status which means you go ahead of the plebs.   That being said I hadn't really heard of many issues of people having that hard of a time getting tickets.

I've been in the free club for a while, never had an issue with tickets. Floor GA for the stadium shows and great seats for arena shows.

The last 3 Dinosaur Jr albums are as good as anything they've done and that is amazing.

Saw him here in Italy last month at the Prato show (about one hour drive from where I live). I love the man. No bullshit, just straight-up good music. We need that like water now, around here.

And PJ is still like 10-15 years younger than those guys.  Metallica was already big in 91 and 92 and PJ just got started.  It took them 8 years to go from Death Magnetic to Hardwired.  If we want a good album we have to keep waiting just like Tool and Metallica fans. I would rather have them go huge in another year or 2 with an awesome album than a mediocre album.

If it takes another six years for them to do a great album, so be it. But no cantdenyme's and sirens's stuff, please.

That's not entirely accurate.  PJ started their career a little older than many other bands.   Hetfield is only 1 year older than Vedder.   It's one of the reasons PJ was amazing out of the gate.  Most of them had experience playing/recording/touring in other bands prior to starting PJ.

Metallica formed in '81, but that means most of the band was still in their late teens when they did that.   So technically Metallica the band is 9 years older than PJ the band, but their actual ages are pretty close together.
