I know "Fuck Me in the Brain" is part of the ramblings series. but have they ever sang it more than once or is it a one time improv thing?
I am questioning my education

    Fuck Me (In the Brain)
(Improv) / 1993 Ten Club X-Mas single (full)
    done on 11/05/93
  • If this helps at all, it was played live

November 05, 1993 - Empire Polo Fields, Indio, CA. USA
November 26, 1993 - Balch Fieldhouse, Boulder, CO. USA

I assume one of those might of been the actual live recording. I don't know where it was recorded the first time as i have never looked it up... But there you go anyway :)
She said to me, over the phone...She wanted to see other people... I thought:
"Well then, look around, they're everywhere"
Said that she was confused... I thought:
    "Darling, join the club"
  • i read in this book called: Pearl Jam & Eddie Vedder: None Too Fragile that this is a Black Flag cover, is this true?

edit: i just googled some Black Flag lyrics what matched with the Fuck Me In The Brain ones and if anything it must be based on their song called "My War"

My war you’re one of them
You say that you’re my friend
    But you’re one of them

You don’t want to see me live
You don’t want me to give
    Cuz you’re one of them

My war you’re one of them
You say that you’re my friend
    But you’re one of them

I might not know what a friend is
All I know is what you’re not
    Cuz you’re one of them

My war you’re one of them
You say that you’re my friend
    But you’re one of them

I have a prediction, it lives in my brain
It’s with me every day, it drives me insane
I feel it in my heart, that if I has a gun
I feel it in my heart, I’d wanna kill some
I feel it in my heart, the end will come
    Come on!!

My war you’re one of them
You say that you’re my friend
    But you’re one of them

    Tell me that I’m wrong
Try to sing me your ego song
    You’re one of them

My war you’re one of them
You say that you’re my friend
    But you’re one of them

    My war.

  • I thought they did it mainly because of the nice audience.

By nine, he deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact, no trade-backs

  • I've got the single here from my old Ten Club days in the early nineties. Let me describe it to you. There's no middle in the record ("There ain't gonna be any middle anymore"). The label on the A-side ("Angel") is black, the label on the B-side ("Ramblings") is white. When you play side B of the record, The "C--" word is bleeped out on the track and there's some kind of squiggly non diegetic sound overdubbed and partially drowning out the actual track of Ed interacting with the crowd.

The gig performance is from the shoeshow at Indio, CA, 5th November 2003 (the same gig that spawned the live version of "Blood" on the "Daughter" CD single).
