Recurring character in Pearl Jam songs

Is it just me or are the subject of Glorified G, Do the Evolution, and Unemployable very similar? I assume they're just a representative of average middle America, but is there anyone in particular he might be basing this on?

In the book 5 against 1 Glorafied G was written by Eddie when Dave A. bought a gun or rifle.
  • It might....be you.
The poster formerly known as AeonFlux.
  • Yeah I am not sure I am buying what you are saying...

Glorified G from what I understand was written because Ed overhead a couple of guy's conversation: basically they wrote it...Now those guys were definately middle America red state types...really it is not complementary of them.

Do the evolution is about all of societies failings but I think it mostly an attack on the powers that be and the damage they have done...

Unemployable is about anyone who is not rich and what can happpen when corporations are more concerned with increasing profits than people' lives...

I think the character in Go, Animal, RVM, Daughter, Dissident, and others I cannot remember are the same person. A lot of songs on VS. are related, IMO.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.
  • All those Vs songs are about abused children so sure they could be about the same person...except dissident that one does not fit

I see dissident as the abused confronting the abuser. therefore, it is totally relevant. maybe on the abusers deathbed?
    Just my opinion.

I must respectfully disagree and really ask you to check out the lyrics again. Dissident is truly that the story of a dissident or actually the story of a woman you turned a politcal dissident in "she sold him to state" and how here life was never good again because "when she had contact with the conflict ther was meaning"

Escape i never the safest path so keep fighting the good fight!!!

Thats fine. I see it another way. Contact with the conflict can be interp. as I said earlier....confrontation. Sold him to the state = turned them in? Thats how I see it.
