Confusion about "Animal"

I always thought it was about the music industry, or American industry in general..I'd dance with you....
...but my hands are on fire.0 -
I thought it was a shout out from 5 bandmembers going *fuck you* to music industry slime not interested in what they have to say, instead of the $ they can create. I'd rather be with an animal is sarcastic like I'd-rather-drink-motor-oil-than-be-with-you type of thing.
Yoohoo! Bandmembers . . . a little help?!There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous

The beauty of songs is that even though the songwriter may have had a specific thought in his head when he wrote it, it can have a different meaning for us. To me, what I feel when I hear Animal is anguish by a scorned lover. "Why would you want to hurt me?" is the definitive part of the song to me that gives me this feeling. Again, that is just me though and I acknowledge that the song probably means something else to Ed.San Diego 10/25/00, Mountain View 6/1/03, Santa Barbara 10/28/03, Northwest School 3/18/05, San Diego 7/7/06, Los Angeles 7/9/06, 7/10/06, Honolulu (U2) 12/9/06, Santa Barbara (EV) 4/10/08, Los Angeles (EV) 4/12/08, Hartford 6/27/08, Mansfield 6/28/08, VH1 Rock Honors The Who 7/12/08, Seattle 9/21/09, Universal City 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, San Diego 10/9/09, Los Angeles (EV) 7/8/11, Santa Barbara (EV) 7/9/11, Chicago 7/19/13, San Diego 11/21/13, Los Angeles 11/23/13, 11/24/13, Oakland 11/26/13, Chicago 8/22/16, Missoula 8/13/18, Boston 9/2/18, Los Angeles 2/25/22 (EV), San Diego 5/3/22, Los Angeles 5/6/22, 5/7/22, Imola 6/25/22, Los Angeles 5/21/24, [London 6/29/24], [Boston 9/15/24]0

Para mí, la canción habla en general en que prefiere estar con un animal en todo ámbito de la vida," El concierto de anoche fue uno de los más memorables de nuestra vida, la gente de Argentina ha sido fantásica con nosotros, no nos queremos Ir "

Personal adaptation is worth more than anything, but it's obvious what Ed was talking about.
1993. Vs.
In the era of songs like "Blood" and near Vitalogy...
The album in response to one of the best most unpredictable music explosions in history..
The band considered to be at the top of the list (even if it's shared with Nirvana)..
1 2 3 4 5 against 1.
5 members of Pearl Jam..
against the world.
5 against 1. The original planned title for "Versus".
It's about fame.

Yes, well put your tongue away!! No need to get cocky!!
It crossed my mind to crow about sanquii's when it came up!!
No seriously it did!! Had a real internal argument about it!
Means I'd have got in first!!
BUT I'm really not sure what it says to be honest.
Wish I did though. It looks sooo interesting!
Damn not having more than one language!!
I really must try to find the article that I read about the pack rape in.
Just so I can quote my source and all.It really was legitimate. Well legitimate in that I actually read it somewhere. Not sure about the credentials though.

it was only brought to my attention this week that this song was about rape. up until then, being a borderline misanthrope, i figured it was about detesting people so much that the voice would rather hang with the animals.
anyhoo i haven't listened to it lately, so perhaps i should and it may become clearer to me. or maybe not.hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
