Same Song Title, Different Band/Artist: "I Want You”

This week's song name is "I Want You."  There are A LOT of versions of this song, so I'm going to list several.  Please bring up others that aren't in this list, because I know this does not cover everything.  This should be a fun one!

The Beatles - Released in 1969, off of their album "Abbey Road"
Bob Dylan - Released as a single in 1966 included on the album "Blonde on Blonde"
Kiss - Released in 1976, off of their album "Rock and Roll Over"
Marvin Gaye - Released as a single in 1976 and the title track in the album "I Want You"
Madonna feat. Massive Attack - Released in 1995 as a cover of Marvin Gaye's version (one of the rare times I'll include a cover)
Savage Garden - Released as a single in 1996/1997 of of their self-titled album
Elvis Costello - Released in 1986, of of his album "Blood & Chocolate"
Kings of Leon - Released in 2008, off of their album "Only By The Night"
The Kooks - Released in 2006, off of their album "Inside In/Inside Out"

I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

I can't vote above the Beatles on this one.  Abbey Road is my favorite record of theirs.

For sure!  Which is why I haven't voted yet.  Have to think this one over a bit longer.

    The Beatles, of course.

The song may have repetitive lyrics, but the vocal intensity and musical vibe are great for grooving and...stuff.

No, you don’t. Dylan is the correct answer.

Haha!  Actually, before I got on here to vote I had decided on Dylan.  All of Blonde on Blonde is masterful poetry backed by top-notch musician ship.  So yes, you are correct Dan!

I do like the Beatles song though.  I remember when Abbey Road came out it was like they had risen to another level.  Sgt Peppers is a marvelous album tricked out with all those technical studio flourishes but Abbey Road is just flat out great rock.

Maybe we’ll have to have a cage match between Paul McCarttney and Bob Dylan to settle this.

I forgot to add the “other” option to this poll.  Once I realized it, it was too late.

Of course. I understand. Although The Beatles track could be argued against, no?

This might have made a good song:  "I Want You (to Paint Happy Trees)"

And what about the Uncle Sam ukulele version of "I Want You"?
