"Go" is about a truck...

I guess Eddie joked about the song being about his truck at some point...the lyrics fit...I mean, I like to believe its about something deeper than that, but still a good song :)
"Speaking as a child of the nineties..."

It's been real, and it's been fun -- but it hasn't been real fun.

I'm assuming you read Five Against One.

I'm sure he was just fucking with Dave A. in saying it was about his truck.

  • Perhaps the truck was a metaphor used as a comparison for something deeper?

You think the Slayer tour is out, or what?

i agree with this, he was probably fucking with him. he wasnt to fond of him if the book is true
And after all this, won't you give me a smile?
  • Ah man, no, I haven't read Five Against One. That'd be funny if Ed was just fuckin aroud with Dave A...I hear a lot about Ed hating him, but I'm not sure exactly why.

Anyway, what do you think the song is about?

I think Go is about a roadblock in a relationship.
Once passive, servile, now your getting sharp, moving oh so swiftly with such disarm...... someone developing a backbone and the nature of the relationship changes, frustration (sexual and emotional) and a power struggle ensue.

i liked this book better....learned alot for it from the early days to the riot act stuff...it explained in the book alot of what some of the songs mean and how they almost broke up at one point, very in depth and detailed...for example i heard RVM was about a car Eddie had and come to find out in the book its a song about wanting to commit suicide and seeing the light at the end and not doing it....this excerpt is about the song Jeremy

I thought Go was a song about I guy who abused this girl and now she was thinking about leaving (RVM...). He's begging her not to go. He realizes how much he needs her even though he's been abusing her for so long. Possibly a metaphor for Pearl Jam vs. the Music Industry and how they abuse the hell out of bands. But Eddie's trying to say that the Music Industry needs the bands like pearl jam cas without them they don't have shit. They need to reconsider their abuse cas sooner or later these bands are just gonna get up and go (RVM...).
