Eddie's writing technique - Who You Are....

I find his writing to be brilliant. He has got this way with taking words you dont hear everyday, pronouncing it improperly, and on top of that, it totally makes sense and sounds great.

I have never listened to a band were nearly every song I was like, what? and had to pull out the dictionary, and then was like oh - and it gets me to thinking, and the best way I can sum it up is WOW.

one of my fav is Who You Are, brilliant song. I had to look up a couple of words here, but it all made sense after that. I love the aforementioned verse line. take me for a ride b4 we leave - I feel that way all the time!!!! great song

Come to send not condescend
Transcendental consequences to transcend
Where we are Who are we Who we are

Trampled moss on your souls
Changes all you're a part
Seen it all not at all
Can't defend the command

Take me a for a ride before we leave
Circumstance clappin' hands
A-driving winds happenstance
Off the track in the mud
That's the moss in the aforementioned verse

miraculous and a little

Just a little time before we leave
Stoplight plays its part
So I would say you've got a part
What's your part Who you are
You are who who you are
I am the end of all your dreams...

  • This song is above all others to me...I would die to hear it live, I can literally feel my spirit rise when I hear it. Then I wanna dance and clap my hands wildly...

    I love that song intensely.

I drunk dialed a girl once and sang it to her. Turned her on and creeped her out at the same time.

I'm a little embarrased to admit that I'm just starting to see the layers in the song writing. I always thought that Jeremy, Alive, Rearview Mirror and a couple others were very clear, and excellent. Now, the ones that I didn't understand at first, I'm starting to see how layered they are - like good chocolate cake.
