Footsteps Appreciation

don't even think about reachin' me, i won't be home
don't even think about stoppin' by, don't think of me at all
i did, what i had to do, if there was a reason, it was you...
aah...don't even think about gettin' inside
voices in my head...ooh, voices
i got scratches, all over my arms
one for each day, since i fell apart
i did...oh, what i had to do, if there was a reason, it was you
footsteps in the hall, it was you, you...oh...
pictures on my chest, it was you, it was you...
hey...i did, what i had to do...oh, and if there was a reason
oh, there wasn't no reason, no
and if, there's something you'd like to do
just let me continue, to blame you
footsteps in the hall, it was you, you...oh...
pictures on my chest, it was you, you...oh...

This song is so beautiful and sparse, yet moving.

  • always been one of my favorites from the very beginning, beautifull and sad at the same time
twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. no question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. the creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but alredy it was impossible to say which was which

  • 'Footsteps' has been my favorite song by anyone...ever for a LONG LONG time...I can still remember where I was, what I was doing, who I was with, and what I felt the first time I heard something so damn beautiful.

    MUCH appreciation for 'Footsteps'!!!

  • I love footsteps! The opening riff is gorgeous, and Eddie sings it so beautifully. :)

  • I listening to it right now. So beautiful, but sad
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
    but memories...they eat me
    I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.

Exactly dreamn!! You hit it right on the head!

You all should have heard this song performed 9/24/04 at the Showbox....holy mother of God...it was amazing! I got the chills listening to it played live....while feeling so much love in the room at the Showbox that night....and I still get the chills listening to the boot now...almost 3 months later.

I highly recommend the 9/24/04 Showbox boot to anyone who is interested.
  • Footsteps is an amazing piece of artistry. It definately deserved it's own thread. :)
