Damn I love htis song.
In my top 10 (Black, In my Tree, Off He Goes, Corduroy, Go, Given to Fly, Even Flow (wah!!!), Grievance, Dead Man) but at the moment I'm just in love with it more than the others
I love the solo, te changes, the lyrics, everything but especially when Eddie starts singing...
I cannot stop the thought, running in the dark etc. etc.
I just go off to another place.
Immortality - a five-and-a-half minute holiday

Thanks
Like it's been said a few timew, the benaroya version is insane.. and yes, this thread also made me play this excellent version of one of the best bootlegs pearl jam ever made !
The only sad thing is I never heard it live !!
Maybe on the '06 tour !!??
Anyone knows if this song is related with Kurt really???
It makes references to kurt's death, like "cigar box on the floor..." A cigar box was found on the flood near Kurt when he was discouvered... I read this somewhere, I think on http://www.thskyiscrape.com in the song interpretations...
i´ll never forget the time and feelings i had when i first heard this song, and specially this line...it makes me think of where i´ve been and what i thought when i heard of cobain´s death...and this line still makes me gonna cry...
to see if i still feel,
i focus all the pain,
the only thing that´s real...
(...)immortality is defined as "ability to live by dying"(...)
I´d never thought about this concept in this way...it´s so simple and a contradiction at the same time...
until next time...
Of which we're caught in the middle.
