Same Song Title, Different Band/Artist: "One”

This week’s song is “One,” which I’ve found to be a heavy hitter in three different decades.

Metallica - 1988, off of the “And Justice For All” record
U2 - 1992, off of the “Achtung Baby” record
Three Dog Night - 1969, written by Harry Nilsson

Feel free to go off of the board and suggest a song that is not one of these three.
I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on.

Easy for me, although I did love the CC one...breaks my brain a bit to listen, though!

Easy pick, but I really like the Three Dog Night song too. Filter did a decent remake of their song a few years back that I liked.

Also, you could always add this one

I love CC’s rendition too.  Keep in mind this poll is about which version do you like best.  I believe Chris is singing U2’s version.

Maybe you should actually listen to Chris' version.

Chris's mashup  of the two is very cool

It's a mashup.  Lyrics from Metallica's sung the tune of U2's.

That is why it hurts my brain a bit...I hear U2 and expect their lyrics and....wtf?  Metallica?
    It is whacked.  (And, awesome)

I love it.  He does explain it before he goes into the song.  I should have listened more carefully.

glad you took my suggestion for "one" as the next poll. Could have added a few others like Gravity Kills or Filter.

Yeah that suggestion really stuck in my head.  It was a good call on your part.

Admittedly, I'm not a huge Metallica fan but both their version and U2's are all-time rock classics. U2's is one of their best tunes - even though the hardcore fanbase has gotten a bit sick of it. Like many PJ songs, U2's "One" is kicked up a notch when they add tags like "Can You Hear Us Coming?" Glad you didn't include the Mary J. Blige duet, however. That's terrible.

I'm pretty sure I would be kicked out of the Ten Club had I included this as a poll option.
