Music for the Band

If you were to burn a CD for each member of Pearl Jam (13 songs each CD) - what would be the CD list? That would take a lot of research, because first you need to know what they like, and guess at what they don't have. I'm sure many of the songs would have to be obscure live recordings, mixed in with Aretha Franklin blues, because why would you not want to listen to Aretha Franklin blues? It's a gift, eh, they shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth ;) Would there be a theme i.e., picnic music or songs that contain P and J?

On the Stone CD must be Disco Duck. I though - ok 70's funk, and it's the first thing that came to mind.

In order to have a good CD for Ed for starters I would have to look at the "if you like this then you would like that . . ." stuff attached to any Ramones CD.

For Matt I'd probably obtain music from areas outside traditional rock where drums are ways for a community to communicate particular events. Like if there is a certain drum scheme that is noted for the passage of a soul to another realm, then that would be on the CD.

Jeff and Mike are harder for me. For Jeff, oddly enough I would focus on the cover art since he's a visual artist and he wears all of those hats. Mike would be blues that whoever is still alive from the early days of rhino records would know about, but has not been mass produced, and they have it sitting under the coffee table or something like that.
