I see those signs all over airports , train stations etc etc but not so much at work places .
which brings me to starting this thread , I work at a major hospital here on Long Island in the main OR recently a new employee was hired and to say the least he seems to really be disgruntled and stand offish with everyone totally bad attitude he even had a little spat with one of my coworkers in my dept ..
He hasn’t been heard from in two weeks I talked to one of his coworkers about this person I asked does he own any weapons ? He dated yes he owns rifles/guns now I can’t collaborate this but it really made me think about talking to the director the OR to see if they know any of this info ..
what you guys think should I bring this up with his direct manager ? Thanks for your responses if any ..

Yes - if you think something and there are some signs, I would say something. The HR org is trained (or will get someone involved who is) in order to help determine if there is a real threat or if there is not.
Do not sensationalize. Simply state the reasons you are concerned.
The only other thing you can do is look up training for dealing with these kinds of situations. In the US a popular training involves "Run, Hide, Fight". So you can at least be prepared.
But, you did the right thing sharing your concerns. I wouldn't overly worry about it moving forward, just remain as vigilant
as normal.
