Again?  Shit!  This is very sad to me, having recently read this wonder book- one of my very favorite mountaineering books-  by Steve Swenson called Karakoram: Climbing Through the Kashmir Conflict.  In this book, Swenson shows you the struggles the average person in this region goes through- people who have no interest in the b.s. political conflicts and are just struggling to survive.  The author also gives a clear picture of how important tourism and climbing expeditions have been very helpful for these people.  During these heightened times of conflict though, those areas become closed off to outsiders and the people there struggle worse than ever.    Sad to here things are going to hell there still/ again.

India and Pakistan in 'uncharted waters'

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-47382949

For one, Tuesday's air strikes by India were completely unexpected. They are the first launched across the LoC - the de facto border that divides Kashmir - since a war between the two countries in 1971.

My guess is that there is a fifty-fold better awareness of Stormy Daniels' latest thoughts on Trump then there are of what is occurring between these two countries.

  • Has the Team Trump Treason Administration or any representative made a public statement asking the sides to de-escalate? Or are they too busy taking turns slow dancing with Little Rocket Man? Priorities, you know?

Not to piss on on your bucket list item or anything, but I recently saw this story about how the Taj Mahal is an absolute disappointment now because the extreme air pollution in the area and because the land around it is literally a garbage dump. It has destroyed the surfaces of it, and it has been totally neglected in terms of upkeep. :frowning: Some are even talking about tearing it down.
I also saw that the Gaza Pyramids are now more disgusting than awe inspiring because the entire area is practically a garbage pit, with trash whirling around in the air and everything. It's really depressing.

And while the gods/Universe are at it, save the world from the kind of insanity going on in the Kashmir yet again.

I'm pretty sure after Russia turned that Air Malaysia passenger flight into metal confetti and human hamburger that airlines will now avoid areas in conflict.  Damn lawyers. :s

You might get a great deal in the Kashmir region.  I think they even will supply a radiation badge in case the nukes start flying...

Imagine that, they do not need the US to interfere and make things worse.  Smart countries should always keep their distance from US help.

Pakistan plans to free the Indian fighter pilot captured in the conflict. It seems they are bending slightly more than India, to avoid escalation.
