I miss the live Porch of old

in The Porch
While everybody seems to focus on the EV touring drama, I'm listening to the Indio 93 boot. Use to buy the boots just to discover the Porch jams, same for Daughter. Man I miss those.

Did get of the earth once I think Denver 2014. There was some nice jamming going on there.
IMO Daughter still has good tags...hope it never ends but good things never last...until the next show!!
They explored pushing the envelope with Blood in 1995, but unfortunately that never stuck. Daughter & Rearviewmirror began to grow that year as well and the latter was far more expressive as the years went on. 2003 and 2005 are among the best for RVM.
Porch maybe peaked around 2006 when some of the blending of earlier raw hard versions meshed with the more exploratory renditions that started in earnest in 2003. In 2005 they played a few really killer versions of Porch in the early part of the North America tour, mostly on the first few Canada dates, and then they kind of bagged it. I am extrapolating but it felt like they may have hit a peak with it the first few shows and really almost were feeling, can't get better. The later versions that tour and year are reeled in a bit.
To some extent the songs that they have stretched - Black, Even Flow, Porch, Daughter (less so, more tagged/jammed), Rearviewmirror, Immortality, Betterman (similar to Daughter tagged/jammed), and of the covers Crazy Mary, Rockin - all might be better served if there were a few more in the arsenal to keep them all fresh.
They as mentioned briefly toyed with a sonic jam on Blood, the same tour Corduroy had some very interesting outro jams that could have grown but both were really put to bed for the most part after that brief dalliance.
No Code doesn't really offer a song that would naturally benefit from stretching out, Yield is similar but for I feel No Way had they ever really tried to attack that live. Binaural offers a couple, Insignificance and Parting Ways. Riot Act and S/T are not really going to offer those, same with BS and Lightning Bolt.

I've Got a Feeling 2/12/92- This whole show (and tour) absolutely rips and is capped off perfectly by an epic IGAF. It features many different themes and Mike is just on fire the whole show. Bootleg quality is A+ as well.

Street Fightin' Man 3/7/94- Can we get an official release of these Denver '94 shows? The sound quality is terrible here, but this is such a cool unique jam and the version of SFm ain't half bad!

Porch 3/29/94- My favorite show of all time and what I consider to be the greatest Porch of all time (sorry Atlanta '94). This version is 12 minutes of raw energy featuring an epic Ed speech.

Porch 4/3/94- Old reliable. There's a reason everyone loves it so much.

I've Got a Feeling 4/12/94- It's a travesty this was excluded from the official release. It's probably the one of greatest jams the band has ever performed and Dave A absolutely crushes it and really drives the ending.

Porch 2/20/95- Super fast version with Great Mike work. Short tag of "Catholic Boys" in the middle.

Little Wing/Maggot Brain 7/9/95- This one is pretty obvious and one most people know, but that's for a reason. Straight HEAT from Mike here.

Better Man 9/1/00- Features almost a complete version of SIFL and the band builds everything up to peak, brings it back down and peaks again. My favorite version of Better Man by far.

Improv>Immortality 3/6/03- 15 minutes of very focused jamming- the improv is almost haunting and the jam in Immortality leaves the song structure completely. Crazy stuff that sounds nothing like they've done before or since. The Japan '03 tour was absolutely incredible!

Daughter 4/22/03- Super unique version with no tags! It gets out there and Ed even plays a little harmonica at one point!

Wishlist- 6/29/03- There were quite a few great version on the RA tour, but I always liked this one the best. Hreat guitar work and soaring vocals from Ed!

RVM 5/25/06- One of the last great versions of RVM imo. This one gets out there and gets super weird. Love those odd RVM's from early to mid 2000's as mentioned above.

-- "Time for Porch again, cue the light we built for Eddie to swing on Paul Stanley-style"
And -- jam out Given to Fly. If My Morning Jacket or Neil Young ever covered GTF they would extend it to 7-8 minutes. I AM SURE OF IT.
