I've actually come around to the point where I wish he wasn't touring anywhere at all, at least not solo. Tour with the band or record new music. Don't just add a new cover or two to the same show you've been playing since 2011.

I would specifically NOT want any PJ songs at an EV show. That's why I wish he'd make a new solo album. I think of his solo work and PJ as two completely separate things (which is why I was horrified by SBM being on LB, lol, and hope he never does something like that again).
Do you say the same about cant keep? Because that is from the same era as sbm but you heard it on riot act first

i hear what you're saying, but can't keep has the same feel on riot act as it does when ed plays it solo, whereas sleeping by myself, well, after soaking in the beautiful melancholy of the ukulele songs version, hearing the lightning bolt version was just... like rats, they don't compare...

I know (and Riot Act is one of my favorite PJ albums). I care so much less about EV's solo work, that him doing Can't Keep on Uke songs didn't really bug me like SBM on a PJ album did. But I love PJ's Can't Keep, and am indifferent about the uke one. Plus, PJ music is so much better than his solo stuff IMO, that a PJ song translates to solo WAY better than a solo piece translates to PJ.
