Vitalogy Poems

I was reading through the vitalogy booklet the other day in preperation for one of my university creative writing classes in which we had to bring in a poem that we liked to share with the class. My idea was to read out Nothingman, and i just checking to make sure i got the words right. Anyway i came across 2 poems that i never really noticed before. One is under the title Aye Davinita and starts: she spent her best days... The other begins: I waited all day... I was just wondering if anyone knew the stories behind these two poems, i think they are beautiful, especially the second one (Just wanted to listen to bad music...). Are they song lyrics?

Oh, I ended up reading the second one.
Love is Deep, Dig it Out, Standing in a Hole Alone.

I see you take another drag
One more lost soul to raise your flag

I'm not sure about the stories behind the poems, but they really are beautiful. The last line of the second one was my signature for a while... "should have stayed for the sunset...if not for me." I love that.
  • yeah i agree,very beautiful poems there,thats what i love about them booklets,all the extras !!!!!
should have stayed for the sunset if not for me,,,,,,-:)
