  • I’ve never heard it.  Do you happen to have a link?

I dont.  I wish.  It was about 30 minutes long too
  • Ah all good.  I remember the day of it.  I remember being very busy at my job not able to get away and listen to it. I’ve kinda always thought they’d replay it.   Pierre seems to be a fan of the band so I’m sure he did a good job.

WMMR has at least two *huge* PJ fans, in Nick McIlwain and Matt Cord (former Sixers announcer).. if I trust anyone, I trust them!
I think Matt Cord is still their public address announcer.

It's not this, is it?  I looked at an old link to the Pierre interview, but the link is dead on the WMMR site.  =\  Emailing Nick to see if they still have it.

i like how they say they "may" release new music. They "may" release new music next week or the week after - or a year from now. The statement is pretty vague.

the pattern of this band is not to drop a new single without previously announcing it. I always wished they'd do a Consolers of the Lonely type release, that would make this place explode (along with my head), but it's not going to happen.

for an album release, though? was CDM sent to radio immediately? I thought it was released to 10C members and went for public consumption a week or so later, essentially being an announcement?

where there is smoke there is fire. they wouldn't say something on air without at least some knowledge that something is coming soon. maybe not exactly this week but clearly it's in the pipeline for soon.

Definitely vague but I’ll still give them the best odds.  After the band found out (later on) that it was Matt Cord that made Last Kiss a hit they seemed to get more access than any rock station ive been around.  I think Cord heard WWS before any dj in the country.

Album release? Way too long ago to remember. Might as well ask me "what was it like when you were born?"😁

I miss that era of the Sixers.. it's just not the same.

1991-1999: Five Studio Albums. Plus Merkinball 2 song album.
2000-2009: Four Studio Albums. Plus Lost Dogs 2 disc B-side album.
    2010-2019: One Studio Album.

It's time for some new music. We need it.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

I think that’s embarrassing honestly. I know a bands output generally slows down as they age but that’s insane. I mean there are 5 songwriters in this band. Unlike a band like u2 where only half the band write.

U2 also do nothing musically outside of the band.

    Jeff: RNDM - two albums
    Tres Mts: one album
    three solo albums
    Three Fish: 2 albums

Matt: one solo album plus SG

    Stone: two solo records

Mike: various side contributions and now his own record company

Ed: two solo records and various singles over the years

it would be awesome if all of these individual efforts would have been for PJ, but if they were, we might not have PJ anymore.

I think it's a sign of where the band is in terms of creative output. After 9 albums (over 100 songs), creating new music just isn't as easy anymore. We've all had to write open-ended essays in school; how much harder would it be to come up with ideas for your 100th after you've already composed 99 unique ones? As much as I'd love new PJ music, I'd hate for them to put out albums that are obligatory and forced just for the sake of staying active. I really hope that WHENEVER a new album comes out, it kicks ass and makes us all feel like it was worth the wait.

Fair point. But for some reason that frustrates me even more. I guess I’m getting bitter  Hopefully we get a new album soon. I’m dying for something.

The weird thing is that Lightning Bolt doesn't seem that long ago, despite going on 6 years.  (Sure, it's 5 yrs 3 mos at the moment, but at the rate we're going...)
