Immortality. Especially if Ed forgets the lyrics. Plus the Bridge on the album sounds better than the live version bridge.
Nah. A good live version (eg, Toronto 2000, Buffalo or Hartford 2013) wins for me. Concert versions often have that beautiful intro - and they don't end with a fade out like the studio version.
GO and MY FATHERS SON are away better studio version
I probably have to agree you on go. That intro is killer.
Yep. The intro in studio is the best. There were some very early live versions that are killer though. Aside from those, studio always wins.
I'm tempted to include Animal with Go. In fact, I might but quite a bit of Vs on this list - however, that might be why it's my favourite studio album by the band.

It’s so much better live. Crazy how everybody hears music differently.

I Am Mine is the first one I thought of. Just never translated live for me.
RearViewMirror - good live but to me the studio version is perfect.
In Hiding - another that is ok to good live just think the studio version is better.
The Fixer and Sirens - yea I know these aren't people's favorites but the studio versions are way more listenable. Live they've never really come off well to me.
This changes for me based on the bootleg year I am listening to. 90's live versions of Porch, Deep, Whipping, Not For You, Once, Blood, Leash, etc completely destroy the studio versions. Not so much these days. Most of them are hit or miss these days and some had the miraculous once in a lifetime performance that beats the studio - thinking mostly of anything on the Benaroya Hall setlist.
so what you're all saying is Pearl Jam is bad live?
No as for most bands nowadays the question would be about Live versions that can beat the studio version. Couldn’t agree more regarding My father’s son, I think Go had great renditions in the nineties. Someone quoted Strangest Tribe, I found Boston’16 awesome. I would pick Oceans.
No Way and Getaway. They have never even come close to replicating the overall sound of those songs live. I think the '98 Pitt show where they played it (No Way) for the first time is about as close as they've come. I can't think of any version of Getaway I like live.

Ed's vocal isn't going to be as consistent as the album in a lot of cases, and certainly not as powerful as it was on the first few records. The guitar tones on some songs can't be replicated as well live. Some songs just don't work live (Getaway is an easy example).
And then of course it all comes down to personal preference.

Yellow Ledbetter
Crazy Mary. I do not like Booms keyboards in the live version of Crazy Mary.

I like what they do in the beginning of RVM too.
