Love Boat Captain

I think there's a lot of songs of pearl jam about a lot of subjects... But it's until you experience something that you can, if not understand, at least, give some meaning to those words and melodies.... At that point, the song becomes part of you, because you can identify with the one that wrote those words... and you can FEEL something when you sing it or play it...

Today I can relate to more songs of pearl jam than I can even remember, but, I think that the most significan to me today, is Love Boat Captain...

One week ago, the mother of a friend died, I assisted to the burial; today, an ex-school mate died in a car accident... I was there, seeing his most beloved friends crying... His parents where on vacations so they just heard of it...Two years ago I was in the burial of my grand father and I saw my mom cry...

It's pretty intense...

I'd like to hear if any of you have something to say, not about me and my stories, but about Love Boat Captain, your stories, and it's meaning to you.
I am just a small mexican in a big big message pit.

  • Hmmmm...

I really do like Love Boat Captain, I think it's a very unique song.....

Love is all you need....all you need is love......love.......love.

    I "love" that part :):)
    "I Miss You Already!!!!!"

"Sorry is the fool who trades his love for high-rise rent, Seems the more you make equals the loneliness you get"

  • i had a mate who stole from me on a few occasions..."not for u" is a constant reminder of it. also gave me the courage to do something about it
The man approached a very beautiful woman in a large supermarket and asked "You know, I've lost my wife here in the supermarket. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes?"
    Woman: "Why?"
Man: "Because every time I talk to a beautiful woman, my wife appears out of nowhere."

I didn't like Love Boat Captain at first. Then it started to grow on me and it's now a firm favourite.

Difficult times for the band I imagine. :)

  • I think Footsteps is my most emotional song.. Either Footsteps or Save You, I don't know.. They all hold a special meaning to me, and inspire me to write my own stuff. Choosing one Pearl Jam song that meant the most to me would be like asking a Christian to choose one favorite verse out of the bible... It can't be done and would be sacrelige.
