Mr Vedders lyrics

So, i was reading a Vedder quote wher he says, and i quote 'I'm not a good enough songwriter to make any real social comments or any other shit like that.....'

I mean, i know we all love PJ, that's why we're here. But seriously, i think the guy is the best songwriter i have heard. Including, dare i say it, Mr Cobain.

Is this blaphemy? Am I wrong to think such thoughts?

Tell Uncle Billiard Ball...................
On the edge, a window-sill
Ponders his maker,
Ponders his will.....

  • They both rock :D, but yeah Vedders lyrics are really genius if you look into them
"We're All Significant Behind The Eyes"
  • Much like Mr Cobain, Mr Vedder is not a modest man obviously.
"This is a public service annowncement... with guitars!!"
  • Obviosly Mr Vedder is not a modest man, much like Kurt Cobain.
"This is a public service annowncement... with guitars!!"
  • I'm a bit biased, but I think Mr. Vedder's a better song writer than Mr. Cobain. However, Mr. Cobain was very talented in this general area as well. Profound thoughts.

  • I think Mr Vedder is a far better lyricist than Mr Cobain because I feel there is more soul and heart and warmth in his words than in Kurts. Eddie's lyrics are something I can relate to, they feel human and real and based on real-ness, whether the subject is positive or negative. I am a fan of Nirvana but lyrically, kurt and eddie just don't compare.
