Hey, i've been a Pearl Jam fan for a long time, and for some reason, my internet never allowed me to go on this page. Anyway, I got that fixed. I would just like to introduce myself to you all. Im Meraphix, im 15, male from the UK, but my effincity is Chinese, from Hong Kong. I play both electric and acoustic guitar and my favourite bands include Pearl Jam (of course....), Creed, Smashing Pumpkins, mudhoney and Green River.

    I've always wanted to meet with other Pearl Jam fans. In high school, no one respects them, and it's suprising that none of them even know who Pearl Jam are - you could only imagine my distraught face...I find myself talking with teachers about Pearl Jam, teachers who are old enough to understand and who respect them. Given that, I figured, some of my teachers are really young too. 25 at the least.

    So tell me how you first came about Pearl Jam. Mine was through the video for Jeremy. I never felt so insired, so I went out and got the Album Ten.

    ps: Yeah, Nocode...I know Scott Stapp really sounds like Eddie Vedder and not because he's trying to either. It's just a coincidence that they look and sound the same when singing. People always say that Creed are a bunch of shitbags etc...but I like Creed. Does anyone like Creed? Why does everybody hate Creed for?

    I like Creed and Im suprised that no ones heard of them - read the "Someone had to mention Creed..." thread on other music.

    Hi I am new too. I love Pearl Jam. I am from the U.S. and cant remember when I was first introduced to PJ. I've always loved them from their first single. I loved Mother Love Bone and SoundGarden also. I like evanescence, the doors, alice in chains, pink floyde, led zeplin, pink, alicia keys, used to like metallica when they were good. I am cherokee, german, and dutch. This is a cool site. Welcome.

    Hey, welcome to the board. I dont mind the *odd* Creed song so I'm with you on that one.
    People on this forum really need to get over Creed tho. Any insults should just be kept quiet.

    Welcome! I happen to like Creed's "What's This Life For". It has a lot of meaning to me because of the fact that I worked for years with homeless teens in a shelter program and suicide was sometimes what some of the teens chose.

    Nice to see a few more UK fans of Pearl Jam. Not enough on this board.

    Have to say I hate Creed, but fair enough if you like them everyone llikes different bands.

    I first got into Pearl jam back in 98, some indie store was playing Who You Are, I was intriuged and asked if they would play a few more tracks. Like they say the rest is history.

    No Code and Binaural are my favourite albums, Ten is my least favourite. So overrated.

    hey i'm sophie :) yeah i don't like creed much, but anyway.....yeah pearl jam don't get much respect over here in australia around people my age group, i know a lot of older people here absolutely love them, and no wonder, but i find it very hard to find someone my age (bout 17) that really likes them, and doesn't just know 1 or 2 songs. also, they get barely any radio play over here except for songs of ten and riot act, and last kiss. australian radio sucks

    I feeling im going to be here a long time...*hears every scream*...sorry guys, im here to stay. But, yes I know what you mean Sophie. Im 15, 16 in June and it's an absolute terror to find another fan, seeing as im - what 10 years late - if only I could be old enough for that period in time, enough to enjoy the seattle movement. That's why I reverted here to meet other fans.

    Hey guys.. i'm new also.. uhhh. i don't really have an oppinion on creed.. the song "what if" is amazingly super but other than that i don't think much of them...
    i first came about pearl jam when my dad brought me the "unplugged and undrugged" cd i loved black unplugged i thought it was miles better than the original.. i'm now the proud owner of all pearl jams recorded albums (awaiting lost dogs, rarities and b-sides) and i own 8 of their live albums, most from last years tour.. I LOVE THEM!!

    Hey,
    I found out about Pearl Jam just last year when i was watchin the top 100 rock videos & pearl jam 'Jeremy' was no 15. I really liked the song so i went into town and bought ten and vs. I was totally surprised that none of my classmates here in the green isle knew who they were. So i've made it my business to spread the word. Does anyone know if they're coming over to Ireland anytime soon? I really wanna know because i wanna see them really bad.

    yeah they released their mtv unplugged songs onto a cd.. i got it on a special import i'm not sure how many of them their are it also has lots of live songs:

    I thought that it was part of their "no more promotion" idea about not making any videos and promoting that...on the other hand, the unglugged was made just after their Ten album am I right. I think i am, but I did recall several articles on the internet which stated that they didn't make an unplugged album. But anyway, i'll be sure to look for that. Thanks for telling me, that unplugged session was awesome.
