When i first heard Black, i cried a little. I couldn't believe how much raw emotion was in that song, and to this day it blows me away whenever i hear it.

    Black is the most amazing song ever written, and I'm deff not ashamed to say that I've cried numerous times over this one.....Ed gets the emotions involved in breaking up with someone you love perfect.

    omg that is just the most beautiful song, yeah i always cry too, especially on the live at the garden dvd, when he sings 'all i'll beeeeeeeeeee' and holds the note and everyone cheers and omg it's so good i love it so much!!!!!! so beautifully written, and i love the music, and i love everything about it! it's my favourite song ever

    I'm right there with you, my friend. This is my favorite song of all time and it's weird to say, but this song has had a profound affect on my life. This song helped me through the toughest time in my life. I still get goosebumps when I hear it...and some times still tear up. This song really endeared me to PJ, and more specifically, to Eddie. Like you say, the emotion he gives is numbing. During that time, he's the only person that I felt could relate to what I was feeling. Anger, hurt, sadness, depression, bewilderment....so many emotions wrapped up into one little, explosive package.

    This song will forever remain my #1. Nothing compares.

    Your all sooo right. I always was the black sheep (no pun intended) listening to PJ, everyone else was into other shit. Black has been my fav song since i first heard it..oooooh, '96-97?

    I am glad to see there are more of me appreciating this goddam amazing song, have you heard Mikes solo on the 'Live on two legs' version? oh my fu**in god, the guy rocks.

    WHATS UP EVERYONE? BLACK, AMAZING!!! I ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS TUNE. JUNE, 1991. I DID NOT KNOW AT THE TIME WHO THE F#@# PJ WERE. THEN I HEAR.
