Hmm. That video was played alot on MTV here in Europe when released. It's beautiful.

I think it was that one that made me ask my mom to buy his Greatest Hits collection (I think that Mary J Blige collab was a new single to sell that collection) together with PJ Harvey - Stories from the City... (Which I had read a review of in a magazine).

If I only watched my own videos that would be like only reading my own posts. No make sense @OffSheGoes35 .

I love seeing other people's choices, and some stuff that's new to me.

BTW @Renfield - nice pick on Tom Waits 'Marsha'.
    Thank you ☺️

Are you a Tom Waits fan? Every time I listen to Martha it breaks a small piece of my heart. The whole album is wonderful, Closing Time, his debut album.

As an fyi... Tom Waits influenced my forum name. He played the character R.M. Renfield in the 1992 version of Bram Stokers Dracula
    So brilliantly demented :)

The man wrote Jersey Girl - he is obviously a genius.

Born and raised and still here.

I live right across from the City, used to work in Midtown. I'm south of Fort Lee where the GWB is.

Love Closing Time so much. Alice, Bawlers (of Bawlers, Brawlers, and Bastards), Small Change, Real Gone are regular rotations for me as well - the dude is a genius. If anyone hasn’t seen his Press Announcement where he announced the Glitter and Doom tour, it’s absolutely fantastic - https://youtu.be/EOrG1r3S6ZA

I'm standing at the window in a house next to the ocean
I saw her come through the garden there
I don't think she knew that I saw and that I heard, but I saw
and I heard how she sang, quietly to herself

Love is for them, the ones who are lucky
Love is for them, the ones who are lucky
Love is for themLove is for themLove is for them

I drove down towards the golden city
Asked the girls who stood by the road
They only stared down at the ground and said, mister
You you don't know anything, you don't know anything

Love is for them, the ones who are lucky
Love is for them, the ones who are lucky
Love is for them, Love is for them, Love is for them

In the quarters behind the station
I asked the poets who sat on a row
They just stared rabbiteyed straight ahead
In the end, in the end one of them said - what would we know about that?

Love is for them, the ones who are lucky
Love is for them, the ones who are lucky
Love is for them, Love is for them, What would we know about that?

    Love is for them
    Love is for them
    Love is for them

I just listened to two of your Thåström video posts S_C, and he is really good, man. Thank you for posting the lyrics in English. Now I'm going to listen to the third one.
Edit: The "Over The Strait" video is unavailable in my country.

Hmm... Well, if you find a song you want an english translation to (I found it quite fun to translate) then just let me know.

His cover of famous swedish 70s leftish political folkrock song "Keops Pyramid (The Pyramid of Cheops)" is great, industrial and heavy.

    THANKS A LOT MR. TRANSLATOR.
I'm just going to listen to the song and insert these lyrics since you've forgotten me...

    I follow the Moskva
    Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
    An August summer night
    Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change
    The world is closing in
    Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
    The future's in the air
    I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
    On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)
    In the wind of change
    Walking down the street
    Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever
    I follow the Moskva
    Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
Take me to the magic of the moment
    On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams (share their dreams)
    With you and me
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night (the glory night)
Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)
In the wind of change (the wind of change)
    The wind of change
Blows straight into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell
    For peace of mind
    Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say
Take me to the magic of the moment
    On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams (share their dreams)
With you and me (with you and me)
Take me to the magic of the moment
    On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away (dream away)
In the wind of change (in the wind of change)

Yeah, that is when he performed for i the original artist at some... event...

Here is his studio cover which I like:

    https://youtu.be/NFVyBn8JWvM

    Here are the lyrics:

    The Cheops Pyramid

I am one of those who slave at king Cheops' pyramid,
it is we who work down by the foot.
We toil and we sweat, not to lose time,
and it's sad about those who don't fill the quota.

    Once you've come here,
    you'll never be free again,
if you end up here, you end up in the pit.
But about the king they say he is the son of the sun.

Behind fifteen double bolts, behind fifteen double locks
the opulent hold court in the halls of power.
Here nothing is threatening, here nothing is bothering.
Here the thoughts and the rooms are equally cool.

And if someone has to die
or some are to get a beating
there are others who can carry out the orders.
Here the cries of angst and the wails are never heard.

So it seems like in every time period and among all types of people,
there are those who want to build pyramids,
where they themselves sit at the top and hold the power in their hands,
whilst those living below they obey

But if those who's up there in the sky
    no longer want to understand
but despises all of those who provides them with food,
then the pyramids will in the end become their graves.
