Support Students Experiencing Homelessness
Update: The Home Shows DonorsChoose.org match fund for students experiencing homelessness has officially been tapped thanks to a community of 5,554 donors who helped make 1,771 projects come to life across 46 states, impacting over 209,000 students!
There are currently 1.3 million students experiencing homelessness in the U.S.
In conjunction with DonorsChoose.org, The Home Shows is teaming up with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Raikes Foundation, and Deutsche Bank to support students across the US who are experiencing homelessness.
Through DonorsChoose.org,
teachers around the country can request funding for items they need to
support students experiencing homelessness in their classrooms and
empower their students to help address homelessness in their community.
Every donation to a qualifying classroom project through
DonorsChoose.org will be matched dollar for dollar.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
U.S. Teachers
- Outline what you need, and how the resources you’re requesting will
benefit students experiencing homelessness at your school. Or, describe
how you’ll use the resources to empower your students to address
homelessness in your community. Once a donor has selected your project,
their donation will be matched dollar for dollar.
Donors - Find a student homelessness project you love and want to support. Then, get your donation matched dollar for dollar.
