    Yup, Kim is married to Chris Friel, who drums on this record. Chris was in Shadow and the Rockfords with Mike. Chris is currently drumming for the Seattle band Sweet Water, who have a new album coming out soon. Kim was in a band back in the day called Lazy Susan (a kickass band I used to see in clubs back in the day) with another of Mike's friends, Tim DiJulio (aka Rock Tim) of Flight to Mars and Stereo Embers. So Kim is part of the close circle of Mike's Seattle musician friends who always end up playing on each other's records, or in various projects together.

    Writing and working up these two songs with Mike has been a super fun experience. Mike's exuberance is infectious and of course his guitar playing is amazing. There was a distinct ease during the process and I think we wrote something special. - Kim Virant

    I went to Kim's first show ever at at an Irish Pub in Wallingford, and she was fabulous! Fell in love on the spot and followed her through Lazy Susan. She's not only an amazing person, but an amazing voice as well. You're The Song showcases her maturity and expertise as a songwriter. I love how she pushed herself on these two songs, and I'm always honored to collaborate with Kim Virant.- Mike McCready

    The singles always seem to arrive quickly for me. Really love the purple colour of this release. The songs are pretty good too.
