My granddaughter

3 weeks ago my granddaughter  baby Eliza was rushed to Southampton hospital PICU unit
She had stopped breathing and it didn't look good.
Since then she has been through hell and is slowly moving forward....
We go to the hospital every day bar the days we look after our other granddaughter and EVERY DAY I sing . LONG RD and LOVE BOAT CAPTAIN to her and I'm 100% SURE that she listens to me ..
I'd just like to say thanks PJ for the songs.. Two of my favourites now mean more than ever. .
Thanks..

  • I don't write on here too often but your post caught my eye. Days before this years first London show my (then 10 month) daughter was rushed to hospital unable to breathe, we spent a couple of nights 'sleeping' on the floor of the hospital room scared out of our minds.

Luckily for us the morning before the show she seemed more herself, she started to eat and even giggle. As we were far from home we begged to be discharged, that evening we were and each hour after she got stronger and stronger.

Since she was born I would sing Low Light to her and each night in the hospital, just before lights outs and first thing in the morning I would sing it. I swear she would relax and her heart rate would drop a few beats, perhaps it was just my voice but it gave me hope.

When they played it the next night in London it felt like it was just for us. It always amazes me how music can help so much when you need it.

I hope it all goes well for you, your family and of course Eliza. Keep singing to her and believing, it usually works out ok in the end. I'll sing Low Light tonight at bedtime and think of you guys.

    Much love

    Jim
