Isn't this called Russian salad dressing?
No. Russian dressing has a kick to it (peppers, horseradish, etc.).

What it is is fry sauce.

Aside: Can you even find Russian dressing anymore? Most reubens I order these days seems like they're using thousand island in lieu of Russian dressing.

You aren't going to a proper Jewish deli then.  Come out my way and you'd be in heaven.
We've only got one where I live now. And I still think a fuckin' goy runs the joint.

Shelsky's was a daily stop for me in Brooklyn, and even they used thousand island on their reuben. Katz still used Russian dressing, but that was a schlep.
    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

    Great Yiddish word!!!

For everyone that doesn't know, it means "gentile" or non-Jew.
