    The age of entitled white men is going to end.  They (or we since you could, I suppose, consider me an entitled white man but, damn, how I hate those all-encompassing labels) are in the minority on this small planet- both males and whites.

    But while were at it, if we are going to admonish entitled white men we might well admonish entitled Americans, as even the poorest of us live like royalty compared to a poor peasant in Myanmar. Certainly those of us who can afford our electronic devices and high priced tickets to mega rock star concerts and drive our shiny beast vehicles.  Who among us here is not entitled?

    Till was a black boy in a land ruled by the KKK. His word didn't matter because he was not considered an equal, not worthy of listening to and certainly not of believing.  Ford alleges that she was sexually assaulted by a Prep School boy in the 1980's who is now a federal judge about to be on the Supreme Court and she comes before the Senate and the entitled white Republican Senators do not consider her testimony or collaborating evidence or request for an FBI investigation to be important enough to believe and certainly not worthy of ruining Kavanaugh's 'right' to become a SCOTUS. 

    Not all men are entitled white men but the ones who are sitting in judgement of Ford and those who sat in judgement of Till are of the same ilk - they consider themselves to be superior to the other party.

    Totally agree with you bud but on these forums it is almost looked down upon if you are white and successful.  
    And yet it used thusly, even here in these threads.  That is a slippery slope because some of the bands that some people here are fans of are comprised of members who are, technically speaking, "privileged white men" and if someone has an issue with "privileged white men" and yet supports those groups, they make of themselves hypocrites.  Or maybe just stop with the hating all white guys who happened, as an accident of birth, to not be born into poverty.

    There is nothing wrong with being white male and successful. When you also think that minorities and women are not as important or easily dismissed, then that is an entitled white male. I didn't speak of anyone on here, I am speaking of those who killed Till and who listened to Ford, only to dismiss her. Kavanaugh is entitled because he can come before the judiciary committee for a job interview after an extremely credible and humble woman, who struggled to please the committee, and act like a toddler throwing a tantrum. He is seen as rightfully angry for what he has been through but if a woman had acted as he had, she would have been removed from the room.

    Till was from Illinois and was visiting his cousins in Mississippi. A little different than your portrayal.  He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ms Bryant was and will always be a pos in my eyes.

    I think most of us would agree with what you say here, NJN.  Obviously many here think highly of a certain successful white male who likes to sing, surf, throw hatches, climb lighting fixtures and bash holes into the floor of stages.  I would also venture to guess that most of us here think highly of minorities and women like Rosa Parks Ida B. Wells, Shirley Chisholm, among many others.

    And I think most of us here would agree that if Kavanaugh is proven guilty, he should pay the penalty and be made an example of inappropriate behavior.

    I would also hope that maybe we could avoid all-encompassing terms like "privileged white men" because in using such a term, the singer and the sinner are placed in the same grouping.

    It is kinda sad how much white and man are used as derogatory comments here. I generally know the people using them are really just referring to specific people they don’t like....but it’s still not a great thing imo.

    Does no one on here believe that the whiteness of your skin and being male doesn’t allow you certain “perks?” “Entitled” qualified “white male.” It wasn’t a blanket statement unless you believe all white males think of themselves as “entitled.” Kavanaugh certainly thinks that of himself as he busted his ass.
