LP2 isn't bad but it was a little thrown together after their initial breakup but some hard core fans like it the best.

I have to say that, until this thread was posted, I’d never even heard of Some Velvet Sidewalk. I’ve never heard them on the radio, or through friends, I haven’t even seen mentioned on the forum before.

I tried some Sunny Day Real Estate last night, because of the praise they're getting in this thread.  I dunno.  Maybe iTunes doesn't have the best sample tracks, but everything sounded like the same song and the lead singer sounds way too whiny for me.  I feel like a few of my friends who were into "emo" listened to them back in the day.  Yeah, you can count me out on that.

wikipedia lists them as one of the first emo bands. blech. I'm going to check them out, but man, do I hate emo.

yeah. I had a couple of their albums. I always thought that they were pretty influential but apparently they are more obscure than I thought. not a single vote. whoops.

Jeremy Enigk, lead singer of SDRE, is known as the godfather of emo. I think it is great that despite that and knowing that emo isn't your gig, many of you have been willing to give SDRE a listen.  Thanks for that.
