    Yo, Rachel

I bought both.. can't say I'd play the MOLO CD over and over, but it is interesting.. I bought a copy for my sis and she likes it .. she would be a Jammer except that she is way too busy.. If PJ plays KC this year, I'll take her because she is a Big Time Fan.. I bought her some 2003 boots and the Bennoroya CD and she listens to it constantly while she is on the road.

As for the Iron's CD, it is very experimental.. lots of keyboard synthesizers and eclectic percussions... definitely good stuff.. a blunt between two lovers and a low volume background works for me.. :P
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

    Well HOWDY, J...

Seems I might enjoy the Irons ;D

I didn't buy the Molo sessions, but I'm just curious, you know? I've got this wierd and changing notion re: Mr. Vedwardio... it's so very Gabriel... so very Simon... is this the progression rock stars take? Make a bunch of records, get a model wife & life and hightail it to Africa to work with those musicians?
(forgive the box, ed... just musing)
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to sing with those f'rs... they have a touch with music and spirituality combined that's just attractive and beautiful in sound.

well... regardless, the Irons is in the mail. three kingskull stickers and a Green Disease tshirt for Mr. setaside2... but shhh... don't tell him... it's a surprise :D

    (i'm addicted to PJ t-shirts)

    cya 'round

hope all is well by you :)

I hate to say it, but I think they both suck. Mind you, I've not listened to either one completely, but there is is a reason for that. I heard all the songs that Eddie actually sang on from the Molo sessions and they are awful. Sure, some people on here beat around the bush and say stuff like, "When you're in the mood they are great!" and things like that... but that's fan-speak for, "Yeah, it's bad." Same with the people saying Jack's album is "experimental." Translation from fan-speak to English is... "It sucks too."

Oh, and the reason I've not listened to both albums completely is because what I heard was bad enough to make this die hard fan not want to hear more. That says something, in my opinion.

    damn...

I don't think "nice" begins to describe what it must be like to have unlimited studio funding... just go off and produce and have backed whatever brainfart music you come up with... damn

I got Johnny Greenwood's (Radiohead) solo effort, and fucking A... what a waste of hard budgeted music money? I mean, I'm all hardcore, like a real fan has everything about it, but seriously? I don't think it'll get much play.

I loved Iron's work with this band though, so... I had to get it.

will keep my fingers crossed :D
  • Hey lady. Too late for a reply? Hope you haven't given up on this thread.
I LOVED the Jack CD. Greg bought it and it's loaded with talent.
I bought the Molo right before they ran out and while I don't agree with the person who thinks everyone's just being polite, I do agree that it's not the most fantastic work. There was a lot of love that went into it IMO, and it's definitely fun. (This isn't just lip service, but you know me well enough to know that, I hope).
I will gladly send you either some tracks off of it or a copy of the disc itself, if you'd like. But shhh...don't tell anyone. LOL.
