lyrics for school

For my English class i have to bring a poem. I'm going to bring in some PJ lyrics. Do you have any suggestions as to what song lyrics I should take. I'm thinking I'm Open.

Cheers

"I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike

"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone

"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV

I'd go with one of the actual poem poems from vitalogy

like the one about the sunset

or if not that, Red Mosquito
    everything=3

    4-3-2-1-0
    2---2--3---3--2----1

  • I actually had my Eng 102 professor make us explicate Elderly Woman on the first day of class. She is a big Pearl Jam fan and thought it would be a good icebreaker for the first day of class. She had us write about the lyrics, then we listened to it, then wrote what we thought about the lyrics after hearing them sung. She used that as a way of teaching the power that reading poetry has to make the words mean even more sometimes. She was a very cool prof. Needless to say when she noticed I was the only person singing along to Elderly Woman in the class, I became a fav student. I would recommend Elderly Woman as a possible choice.

I brought in "Wishlist" once to class.

I think "Black", "Nothingman", or "Off He Goes" would work well.
  • wishlist for sure
    awesome quotable lyrics....so so sweet

to be honest you could pick nearly any pj song and use any line to base as your poem.

    thin air....awwwww
now im just getting all soppy

  • I used Given To Fly in my English exam this year
    "Provided there are no pre-conditions"
